Altec Lansing Sound

I"ve been on this board for a long time and have heard coments of the like " my A-8 sound like a large transistor radio". Or "the mids are to loud".

Both true if not driven with a period correct front end or at least a mimic of one using SS and passive EQ, both of course with the XO properly adjusted for flattest tonal balance in-room.
